Among the unique facilities and services at Sunway Medical Centre:

• Using Zeiss INTRABEAM technology for Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT). IORT is the procedure for treating breast cancer by focusing radiation doses on tumors, reducing time and encouraging more positive results.

• Leg movement therapy with the help of robots using LOKOMAT PRO V5 enabling effective and intensive training and will increase recovery potential. The physiological pattern of leg movements is ensured by exoskeleton that can be adjusted individually and combined with a dynamic weight support system.

• Using the Siemens SPEC-CT Scanner to provide accurate information about the anatomy and functionality of the scanned area with a combination of two imaging technologies:

  • SPECT indicating biological functions in the body

  • Tomography Computed (CT) that shows the detailed anatomical structure

• Using Leksell Gamma Knife ICON technology which is a solution to various neurological problems. Gamma Knife is a non-invasive machine (no open surgery required) that delivers high doses of radiation beam to its target and this will minimize damages to the normal tissues around it.

• Using da Vinci's robotic surgical system allows surgeons to do fine procedures with better accuracy and provide better results for patients. This means the reduction of any form of complications, a faster recovery time and a better surgical experience.

• Usage of Varian TrueBeam STx technology that offers high precision and speed through advanced imaging procedures, powerful radiation transmission and detailed motion management. This allows various types of radiosurgery to be performed on cancer patients.
